"I will be forever mad kids films are relegated by many studios to the, 'don't try too hard on them' bucket. Kids deserve so much more in terms of sophistication and movies. I've always thought Minecraft could be a property that really lends itself to a sublime/otherworldly feeling (I mean just listen to the OG soundtrack, it's so eerily lonely!) and it's really sad it's instead just seen as fodder.

That's all anything feels like now... some of the best films I watched growing up as a kid were exactly the sort of slow, melancholic things most people assume 'kids can't sit through', but that's exactly what makes them so distinct in my memory!"
